 チェコの小さな世界遺産の街「チェスキー・クルムロフ」。
世界で最も美しい町の一つです。1992年に世界遺産に登録されました。クルムロフは「川の湾曲部の湿地帯」を意味し、ドイツ語のKrumme Aueをその語源とします。チェスキーは、チェコ語で「ボヘミアの」という意味であり、これによりモラヴィアにあるモラヴスキー・クルムロフ（Moravsky; Krumlov）と区別されます。
"Cesky Krumlov" is a small town of The World Heritage site in Czech. It's one of the most beautiful town in the world. It was given the status of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Krumlov means "Damp area of the curved section of the river" and "Krumme Aue" in Germany was the origin of the word. Cesky means Bohemian in Czech and it is differentiated from Moravsky; Krumlov in South Moravia by this. |

1622年、神聖ローマ皇帝フェルディナント2世は、当時、神聖ローマ帝国全土を巻き込んでいた三十年戦争において、財政面を含む貢献のあったエッゲンベルク家にこの町を与えました。この時代に、町にはバロック様式の建築物が加わりました。

In 1622, Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand II gave this town to the House of Eggenberg who did the big contribution including the financial aspect in Thirty Years' War that rolled up whole Holy Roman Empire. Buildings of the baroque were added to the town in this era. |

1938年、ナチス・ドイツはチェコスロバキア領内のドイツ系住民の権利が侵害されているとして、ズデーテン地方の併合を強行しチェスキー・クルムロフを含むボヘミアのドイツ語圏地域はドイツ領となりました。ここにはドイツの軍の基地がおかれドイツ人兵士たちによって多くの建造物が破壊されました。1945年ドイツは敗北し、チェスキー・クルムロフはチェコスロバキアに復帰しました。チェスキー・クルムロフの住民の多くはドイツ系であったため、ベネシュ布告により多くの住民は市民権と私有財産を剥奪、没収され、故郷から追放する処分が下されました。

As a result, the German zone area of Bohemia including Cesky Krumlov became the Germany territory. The base of the German military was created and a lot of buildings were destoryed by German soldiers. In 1945, Germany lost and Cesky Krumlov returned to Czechoslovakia. Most of residents of Cesky Krumlov were deprived and forfeited citizenship and private property, and disposal to expel from the hometown was given by proclamation of Benes because they were German. |

1945年以降、チェスキー・クルムロフは荒廃状態にありました。町の伝統的な住民の多くを追放したことは、チェスキー・クルムロフにとって大きな打撃でした。町の住居の多くは、無人となりました。1948年の共産主義化により、城郭などの歴史的建造物が「封建時代の遺構」とみなされ価値を否定されたことも、その荒廃に拍車をかけました。ようやく歴史的建造物が徐々に補修されるようになったのは、プラハの春が訪れた1960年代後半以降のことでした。

Most of houses of the town became unmanned. In communism from 1948, the historical buidings like the castle was regerded as "remains of fuedal period" and denied the value of them. As a result, the dilapidation was accelerated. After "Spring in Prague" of late 1960's, historic buildings finally came to be gradually repaired. |

 小さく静かな美しい田舎町を想像して来たら観光客があふれかえっていました。夏の観光シーズンだからしょうがないですが、もう少し静かな時に来ると印象も違うでしょうね。
Though we imagined small,quiet and beautiful county town, it became full with tourists. It couldn't be helped because it was a summer vacation season. However if we come here when it is a little quieter, we may have another impression. |

 街のいたるところからシンボルの「チェスキー・クルムロフ城」が見えます。他のお客さんはここに1〜2泊するみたいですが、正直泊まって後何見るの？という感じです。

ホテル横の「ツェントラル」。「フェステル宮殿」内にあります。カフェは1876年に開業し、19世紀後半にはウィーンのインテリ達の集会場となっていました。
We came back to Vienna and had a dinner. "Cafe Central" next to the hotel. It's in Palais Ferstel. The cafe was opened in 1876, and in the late 19th century it became a key meeting place of the Viennese intellectual scene. |
