 午後から王立美術館へ行く前にエステへ。5年間通いました−。ポーランド人のマダムにとろけるマッサージときれいなネイルをしてもらっていました。とてもリラックスできるいい時間でした。ありがとー
I was going to Royal Museums of Fine Arts in the afternoon, but I visited anesthetic salon before that. I have visited there for 5 years. I receive mild massage and was decorated nails beautifully by a Polish madam. When I was there, I was relaxed very much. Thank you. |

It is a shop of the flower artist who handles the decoration of the wedding ceremony of the Royal Family. He is famous in Japan as well. The building in art nouveau style is beautiful. |

 入り口でセキュリティチェックを受けて入ります。テロ以前はセキュリティチェックはありませんでした。5年間で変わったことの一つ。
美術館の入場料もかなりの値上がり。来たときは7ユーロほどだったのに今は10ユーロ。それでもベルギーの観覧料は安いほうです。
I entered the museum after the security check at the entrance. There was no security check before terrorism. It is one of the changing points in 5 years. An admission fee considerably rose in price. When I came to Belgium, it was about 7 euros, but 10 euros now. Even so, a Belgian admission fee is less expensive than other European countries. |

 「マリア被昇天」。
どこかの教会にあった絵だと思います。赤、黄、青が使われていて華やかだけど決して派手ではない、好きな絵です。左側の黄色いドレスはルーベンスの一番弟子「ヴァンダイク」によるものだそうです。

I think it is in the church somewhere. Red, blue and yellow are used, it is glorious, but never gaudy. Therefore I like it. It is said that yellow dress in the left was painted by "Anthony van Dyck" who was Rubens' best pupil. |

 「王立美術館」は6つの美術館が関係しています。1750年までの欧州美術コレクションを展示している「古典美術館」、「近代美術館」は同じ建物内にあります。2009年にオープンした「マグリット美術館」と2013年にオープンした「Fin-de-Siecle美術館」はメインの建物に隣接しています。2人のベルギーの芸術家に捧げたもっと小さな2つの美術館は街の中心から2-3Km離れた場所にあります。いちばんのお気に入りは「古典美術館」。こうした宗教画がたくさん見られます。
There are six museums connected with the Royal Museums; two of them are located in the main building - the Oldmasters Museum or Museum of Ancient Art, whose collections cover European art until 1750, and the Museum of Modern Art. The Magritte Museum, opened in 2009, and Fin-de-Siecle Museum, opened in 2013, are adjacent to the main building. The smaller 2 museums , dedicated to two Belgian artists, are located a few kilometers from the city centre. "The Oldmasters Museum" is my most favorite museum. Such many religious pictures are seen. |

前回来たときは貸し出し中でみられませんでした。最後に見られてよかったー。この絵は1973年のホラー映画、「エクソシスト」のポスターや販売されたビデオパッケージの場面に影響を与えました。その中では登場人物のメリン神父がマクニール家の前に立っています。またジャクソン・ブラウンの1974年の作品、「レイト・フォー・ザ・スカイ」のアルバムアートにも影響を与えました。

When I came here last time, I could not see it because it was lent to other museum. It was good that I could see it at last. The paintings inspired a scene in the 1973 horror film "The Exorcist", which was used on the film's posters and home video releases, in which the character Father Merrin stands in front of the MacNeil family's house. It also inspired the artwork for the cover of Jackson Browne's 1974 album "Late for the Sky". |

空は明るい晴れた昼間なのに、地上は夜。この正反対の事柄を、見る者に納得させてしまう力がこの絵にはあります。絵の前から動けなくなる、魅力的な絵。見られてよかったです。

ブリュッセルが題材になった絵を。これは「Hippolyte Boulenger」作の「テレビューレン通り」。今も変わらない美しい通りです。

I admired paintings whose subject matter was Brussels. It is "The alley of old charms. Tervuren" by "Hippolyte Boulenger". The beautiful street hasn't changed since the olden days. |

 もちろん「アールヌーボー」の展示も。ベルギーは「アールヌーボー」発祥の地ですから。奥に見える絵はアールヌーボーを代表するグラフィックデザイナー、チェコの「ミュシャ」の作品。
Of course works in "the Art Nouveau" period are displayed because Belgium is the birthplace of "the Art Nouveau". Paintings of "Alphonse Mucha", a Czech painter, illustrator and graphic artist, who represents the Art Nouveau, are seen in the depth. |

 明日本帰国されるお友だちとばったり。2005年愛知万博で一緒に働いていた人です。帰国前日、駆け足でブリュッセルを楽しんでいる途中だそうです。日本でも10年以上会っていなかったのにブリュッセルで会うなんてねー。
I met a friend who would return to Japan tomorrow by chance. I worked with her for Aichi World Exposition in 2005. I heard she was enjoying Brussels in a hurry on the day before return home. It was strange we met here, although we have not seen in Japan for over 10 years. |
